Norris Hall is one of the middle Tennessee area’s most commissioned artists, featuring a kaleidoscope of whimsical characters in the form of animals and other colorful images which have been displayed in galleries, museums and commercial spaces all over the US.

He has been commissioned by Disneyland Paris, AT&T, Charter Communications, Tennessee Performing Arts Center, Nashville International Airport, The Discovery Center (Murfreesboro, TN), Linebaugh Public Library (also in Murfreesboro), Skokie, IL Public Library, numerous schools, pediatric dental offices, orthodontists’ offices and pediatricians’ offices across the US for all sizes and types of installations, illustrations and artwork.

He has been featured twice on HGTV (Home & Garden Television), designed two Art Tags: “Fish” and “Cool Cat” Tennessee auto license plates, illustrated many children’s books and designed the set and costumes for the Nashville Ballet’s production of Peter and the Wolf.

Norris started Norris Hall Studio in 1987 and has been busy “barely making a living” ever since.

Norris came up with the idea of the Time To Brush Clock back in 1990. At that time he was doing regional craft fairs and art shows. He made a few and added them to his line of handmade, hand painted furniture, earrings, and small sculpture. The reaction was surprising. No one looked at much of his other stuff anymore. It was that clock that grabbed all the attention. It was particularly attractive to pediatric dentists and orthodontists.

At the turn of the century, Norris slowly shifted to illustration and graphic design. Among other things, he has illustrated many children’s books, comic books, and has done character design for animation projects.

Norris Hall Studio offers full service illustration, graphic design and printing.

When he’s not drawing or designing, Norris is rattling the windows with his bass guitar (much to the delight of the neighbors).
